BSZ stands for double-sided locking: you can unlock the door even if there is a key in the other side.
If your cylinder cannot do this, it is a standard model.
If necessary, we can retrofit a suitable BSZ cylinder.
The adjusting screw controls functions such as:
- Closing speed
- Final stroke (closing force)
- Opening damping
You can make minor adjustments yourself—if you are unsure, we will be happy to assist you on site.
Opinions differ on this point – but we speak from experience:
- Our in-house cylinder and lock oil from BRUNOX works excellently in most cases.
- Standard WD-40 can also help if the key is difficult to turn or does not lock completely.
Important: Use very sparingly – a small spray is sufficient. It is best to spray lightly with the key removed and then lock and unlock several times.
Tip:
If your cylinder sticks, try this first:
- Blow it out gently
- Then spray with BRUNOX or WD-40
Please avoid grease or classic oils – they attract dust and can cause the cylinder to stick in the long term.
- Cylinder: The removable locking part into which you insert the key.
- Lock: The entire mechanical system in the door that works together with the cylinder.
Often, replacing the cylinder is sufficient—we will be happy to advise you on site.
