EU-standardized dimensions and accessibility
Mailbox systems in Austria and the European Union are designed and installed in accordance with EU standard EN 13724. This standard regulates the permissible installation heights, mail slots, and minimum dimensions for mailboxes and serves as the technical basis for new buildings, renovations, and barrier-free designs.
According to EN 13724, the center line of the letter slot must be between 700 mm and 1,700 mm above the floor. In exceptional cases justified by structural reasons, an extended height range of 400 mm to 1,800 mm is permissible.
All mailbox systems are designed in C4 format so that they can also accommodate larger letters, magazines, and envelopes. The standard-compliant mail slots are:
- Crosswise insertion: approx. 325–400 mm
- Longitudinal slot: approx. 230–280 mm
For barrier-free use of mailboxes, it is recommended that at least 30% of mailboxes be positioned at a particularly accessible height between 900 mm and 1,300 mm. This recommendation is based on current barrier-free planning guidelines and facilitates use for people with limited mobility.
The specific implementation of accessibility for mailbox systems depends on the type of building, its use, and regional building regulations, and should always be coordinated with the relevant building authority.

JU Combi Box 950
The JU Kombibox 950 is the latest generation of modern parcel and letter boxes – developed for maximum security, maximum reliability, and completely autonomous operation. The box works entirely without a power connection, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or running costs. Thanks to the integrated solar panel, the system is energy self-sufficient and ready for immediate use.
Compared to traditional parcel boxes, the Kombibox 950 impresses with its above-average robust material quality, consisting of corrosion-resistant, 1.2 mm thick sheet steel with 100% powder coating. The electromechanical lock can withstand up to 300 kg of pressure and, together with the burglar-proof, low-maintenance hinge, ensures maximum security. The box is also UV-resistant, weatherproof, and corrosion-protected.
Installation is simple: each combi box comes with a mounting kit for both concreting and screwing. Nuts and washers are included – only the appropriate anchors need to be added depending on the substrate.
Another major advantage is the patented digital system, which works entirely without an external power source. A one-time transport code enables secure delivery by all common parcel and delivery services. The owner then conveniently opens the box with their personal code.

Metzler "Bispo" parcel box
The Metzler "Bispo" parcel box combines modern design with high functionality and offers an elegant, secure solution for receiving parcels and letters on a daily basis. Two separate compartments – one for letters and one for parcels up to size M – ensure that your mail is always stored neatly and securely. The generous integrated letter slot is suitable for envelopes, magazines, and large envelopes.

Delivery is contactless and available around the clock, so packages arrive safely even when no one is home. Multiple shipments can be stored one after the other without any problems, eliminating unnecessary trips to the parcel station. Installation is straightforward, and the necessary mounting materials and two keys are included in the scope of delivery.
