Reversible key systems
Kaba Expert K95 – Patent protection until 2043
Advantages:
Free keys: 2-3 keys per door/cylinder are included in the price and can be customized according to locking authorization. Example: 3 apartment cylinders and one front door result in 12 keys that can be divided up, e.g., 5 master keys that lock all cylinders.
Colored key caps: Make it easier to quickly distinguish between keys.
Sophisticated system: The Kaba Expert K95 system is well established and reliable.
Compact key: The rounded key is small and easy to handle.
Manufactured in Austria and Switzerland: High-quality manufacturing guarantees durability and quality.
Modular design: The system can be extended or shortened at any time. It is also possible to use a rotary knob instead of a key.
Disadvantages:
Higher price: Reversible key systems such as Kaba Expert K95 are generally more expensive than serrated key systems.
Evva 4KS – Patent protection until 2037
Advantages:
Springless system: The key slides into the lock without pressure, offering greater user-friendliness.
Large key: The square key has a serrated structure at the front, which provides additional security.
Manufactured in Austria: An Austrian company guarantees high quality and reliability.
Modular design: The system can also be flexibly adapted, both in length and functionality (e.g., conversion to a rotary knob).
Disadvantages:
Larger key: The larger key is less handy than the compact Kaba Expert K95 key.
Charged keys: All keys in this system are subject to a charge.
Winkhaus X-Tra – Patent protection until 2038
Advantages:
- Up to 20 radial pins: The keyTec X-tra system uses up to 20 spring-loaded radial pins in several levels, ensuring a very high level of tamper protection.
- Free keys available: Depending on the size of the system and the agreement, several keys per door/cylinder are included in the price at the time of purchase – ideal for individual distribution, e.g., in families or businesses.
- Colored key caps: The keys can be equipped with colored plastic caps, which make them easier to distinguish and provide better grip – ideal for large locking systems or offices.
- Convenient reversible key: Thanks to the symmetrical key slot, the key can be inserted in any orientation. The specially shaped key tip makes insertion particularly easy.
- Modular design: Cylinders can be retrofitted in terms of length and function (e.g., rotary knob, half cylinder, panic function). The system can also be easily expanded in the event of subsequent restructuring.
- Very high security standard: Standard drill and pull protection, dome holes, and additional locking surfaces make the system extremely resistant to violent and manipulative attacks.
- Manufactured in Germany: Winkhaus stands for quality – manufactured to high standards with a focus on durability.
Disadvantages:
- Higher costs compared to simple systems: As a high-quality reversible key system, the Winkhaus X-Tra is priced above classic serrated key cylinders.
- No purely mechanical replacement system for basic classes: The system is clearly aimed at high security requirements – it may be oversized for small systems with low requirements.
